Background / Experience
Ricky Dean Edwards was born on August 16th in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He was four of five children, born to Johnny and Ruthie Edwards. Ricky was raised on a farm Northeast of Pawnee. Here he became a cowboy to the core; working the farm, riding bulls, and breaking horses. He grew up in a Christian home where his father was the song leader and a deacon at the First Assembly of God Church in Skedee, Oklahoma.
Sally Donita Anderson was born on November 21st in Center, Texas. She was seven of eight children born to Pete and Lydia Anderson. Sally was an average teenage girl who grew up and spent most of her life in Silsbee, Texas where she was raised in the Baptist church.
Ricky and Sally were married on Dec 19, 1980 in Davis, Oklahoma. Although Ricky was raised in a good Christian home, at the age of eighteen he entered into several years of rebellion and ran from God. In 1983, nine years later, he and Sally, both returned to the Lord. It was then that these hallmark verses in Hosea 6:1-3, became a reality in their life. “Come and let us return to the Lord...He will revive us and then we shall know if we follow on to know the Lord.” Ricky knew what he was called to do. A few months later, they were both baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
In 1986, Ricky, Sally, and their five children moved from Davis, Oklahoma to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Ricky began attending Rhema Bible Training Center with Kenneth Hagin Ministries.
In May of 1988, soon after graduation, they moved to Southeast Texas where Sally was raised. While they were living there, Sally’s mother invited them to a Bible study where Ricky was asked to teach. After teaching and conducting several Bible studies, he was asked by the people, if he would consider becoming the pastor. Ricky responded with, “I am an Evangelist.” Several nights later the Lord woke him up during the night and spoke to him. It was then that Word of Life Church was birthed. The Edwards remained in Silsbee, where they pastored for nine years.
It was in 1996 that they began to feel that a change was coming. Still not quite sure what change was taking place, they resigned from Word of Life Church and moved back to Pawnee, Oklahoma.
The Edwards moved with intentions of Evangelizing once again. But in May of 1998, Family Worship Center was born. It has been many years since God birthed this vision in the hearts of Pastors Ricky and Sally. Today that vision is impacting the lives of hundreds of people.
Since 1986, they have endeavored to reach and teach people of all ages bringing forth God’s message of salvation, healing, hope and deliverance. Their vision has remained the same and that is to bring restoration to the Body, and teach people who they are in Christ. Their desire is to see that the Harvest is brought in.
Today, Pastors Ricky and Sally, pastor Family Worship Center and travel across the country teaching and preaching the Word of God with signs following. They are proclaiming that we are "In the Glory!" They have raised nine children and have fifteen grandchildren.
